Nutter Fort Fire Department is an all volunteer organization; all of our calls are answered by 42 men and women who give up their time to help others. Without an active membership it would be impossible for us to provide emergency services to the communities we serve. Nutter Fort Fire Department is constantly looking for individuals that are interested in making a difference in the community. With the high demand for volunteer firefighters across the state, there is no experience or training required as it will be offered once you are a member.
To join you must be a citizen and at least 16 years of age and willing to donate your time in making a difference in your community. Applications are available by stopping by the fire department and speaking with a department officer, board member, or come by the fire department on Monday evenings at 7 P.M. All applications are presented to the general membership at our monthly meeting and discussed. If approved applications are submitted to the investigation committee for further review. Once approved you are placed on 180 day probation where you are introduced to the fire department and permitted to participate in department activities. All active members are expected to participate in monthly meetings, drills, and work details. Members must participate in minimum of 15 % of the yearly activates.
If you have any questions or are interested in joining you may stop by the fire department any time or call (304) 622-5001 ext. 207 and speak with the Fire Chief.
It is the policy of the Nutter Fort Fire Department not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, religion, political beliefs, or handicapped conditions.
