Coming Right Along!

The Nutter Fort Volunteer Fire Department is located in central Harrison County, WV. Located just minutes from downtown Clarksburg and Bridgeport, we serve an area of 88 square miles covering a small portion of Interstate 79 as well as a stretch of US Route 20 and US Route 57 through the communities of Nutter Fort, Quiet Dell, Center Branch, Walnut Hills, Craigmoor, Romines Mills, and Bicetown. We also provide mutual aid to every fire department in Harrison County and any agency that needs our assistance. Our goal is to protect the citizens we serve from harm, educate to reduce threats against life and property, to develop and train to increase knowledge and skill while showing dedication, courage, respect, kindness, patience, and compassion.
Our department operates out of a single fire station located at 1415 Buckhannon Pike in Nutter Fort. The department is blessed to have 38 firefighters, both men and women, actively serving the department as we respond to more than 600 calls per year ranging from fires, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, and public service calls. Daily operations are managed by the Fire Chief, and his Deputy and Assistant Chief, with the aid of two Captains, two Lieutenants, and one Safety Officer. They are supported by the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.
Our apparatus consists of three Class A pumpers, one Class A 50’ telesquirt, a Tanker, three support utility trucks each with different roles, and a ranger for off road rescue, fire suppression, and recovery. We are very blessed to have the fleet that we have and continue to upgrade as our area grows and changes. All of our apparatus were purchased with fire levy support, state and local funds, and with hard work and dedication put into fundraising by the members.
